LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker is a new installment of the action adventure game series, in which the Star Wars universe is combined with popular LEGO bricks. The title is a kind of final summary of the series and allows you to relive the events from the three cinematic trilogies from 1977-2019. The creators of the previous parts of the series from Traveller's Tales studio are responsible for the production of the game.
Storyline
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga takes into account the stories known from nine full-length Star Wars movies, starting with Anakin Skywalker's fate in the times of the Old Republic, through Luke Skywalker's clash with the Empire and ending with Rey's journey. However, it is not a faithful egranization. In accordance with the tradition of games with LEGO in the title, the events are presented with a pinch of salt, enriching the story with a large dose of humor.
Mechanics
The gameplay basics in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga do not differ significantly from the scheme developed by previous LEGO Star Wars games. The title is a colorful action adventure game in which we control the characters known from the movie screen. Hundreds of characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Obi Wan Kenobi are at our disposal. Together with them we travel through locations, fight with enemies and solve simple puzzles.
Although the gameplay formula has remained unchanged, the developers have introduced some modifications and additional attractions. We can freely fly our ships (including the iconic Millennium Falcon) in space, as well as land on selected planets in many different places. A considerable novelty is the combat system. The developers have developed a mechanism that allows even the youngest players to play, while leaving room for more skilled players to show off.
Game modes
According to the tradition of the series, in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga we can play both alone and together with a friend in co-op mode.
Technical issues
Traveller's Tales studio did their best to make LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga look like an eighth-generation console game. The visuals have been kept in the style of the previous instalments, but with a lot of added detail, such as sand collecting on the figures in the desert of Tatooine.
